Abstract
We report the preliminary results of an experiment designed to search for the C-nonconserving decay of ground-state orthopositronium (1S13) into four photons. In terms of the branching ratio FT4γ=RT4γ(S134γ)R3γ(S133γ), where RT4γ(S134γ) is the C-nonconserving four-photon decay rate and R3γ(S133γ) is the C-conserving three-photon decay rate of free orthopositronium in our sample, we find FT4γ<8×106 (68% confidence).
