Abstract
There is often a need for the lighting engineer to apply results of visual experiments, conducted under laboratory conditions, to normal viewing situations. But whereas the latter implies use of the eye's natural pupil, the former may well employ a smaller, artificial pupil. The effect of this on luminance level is discussed and conversion tables are provided. Keywords
