Abstract
Both the amplitude and width of an optical pulse oscillate in a periodically dispersion compensated transmission line. However, guiding centre theory shows the existence of a core soliton in the pulse having a narrower pulse width. As a result, the larger dispersion variation leads to less interaction between pulses of the same width. Keywords
