Abstract
Sperm transport was shown in excised, perfused genital tracts of cows. Some transport of sperm took place in tracts from estrous cows without hormonal additions to the perfusate. No evidence of sperm transport was found in tracts from cows in the progestational phase of the estrous cycle without adding oxytocin to the perfusate. Addition of oxytocin to the perfusate after sperm had been deposited in the cervix enhanced sperm transport in the tracts in both the follicular and the progestational phases of the estrous cycle. Keywords
