A Model for Teaching Mathematical Concepts

Abstract
An activity on which mathematics teachers (and teachers of other subjects, too) spend much time is the teaching of concepts. One may argue that the teaching of concepts is the central objective of academic instruction. It is the purpose of this article to offer a model for teaching mathematical concepts and then to point out how this model may be useful in the education of mathematics teachers and in the direction of research.
