Abstract
Stark‐effect measurements of the 0–0 band of the 3820‐Å transition (1A″←1A′) have been made. Analysis of the pP subbands with K″ = 9, 10, and 11 yields a value μa′ = 0.7±0.2 D. The other component of the dipole moment, μb′, of the upper state is not determined. The relatively complex spectrum produced in the Stark effect is readily simulated by computed spectra. The techniques used appear to be applicable to complex spectra. Keywords
