Abstract
The metabolic rate of liver tissue in vitro is the same for very young and nature chickens, but is significantly higher in 1-month-old chicks. This same sequence has been noted in the whole animal metabolic rate (per unit wt.) of growing chicks. The metabolic rate of kidney tissue in vitro is essentially the same for all age groups of birds tested. Keywords
