Abstract
Contrary to results previously published, cortisone did not cause a rapid increase of parasitaemia in mice or hamsters infected with P. berghei, and in some cases it had an inhibitory effect. The existence of a humoral agent restricting the multiplication of the parasites in the peripheral blood was suggested. Keywords
