Abstract
We report a crystal-electric-field effect on the low-temperature thermal expansion of TmSb, manifesting itself as a Schottky-type anomaly. From our results we deduce a volume dependence of the crystal-field level splitting which is in contradiction to point-charge-model expectations. Keywords
