Abstract
A survey of the speech and voice skills of 999 middle-school (grades six to eight) children was conducted in a rural, university-based community. Seventeen percent of this population demonstrated inadequate voice, articulation, or fluency. The results indicate a need for continued management of youngsters with communicative disorders through the middle-school grades. Keywords
