Abstract
This paper is concerned with competition between alternative perspectives and with the sources and results of this conflict of ideas. Of particular interest are: (1) the opposition between pro‐growth perspectives and a limits perspective; (2) reactions to the limits perspective; and (3) the development of a “sustainable development”; synthesis. Keywords
