Abstract
The distributions of Leach''s Storm-Petrel (Oceanodroma leucorhoa) and Wilson''s Storm-Petrel (Oceanites oceanicus) off Nova Scotia in summer are related to oceanographic conditions. In Bay of Fundy, local concentrations of birds occur over tidally-induced upwellings and convergences, where zooplankton biomass is highest. On the Scotian Shelf and Georges Bank, flocks are also associated with the shelf-break and the edges of shoals. Similar associations occur in other areas.
