Social Articulation and Technical Change

Abstract
This paper analyzes and interprets the modernization and technical change that has occurred in Latin Ameri-can agriculture during the last two decades. Empirical findings from eight case studies were subjected to an ana-lytical procedure which tied the innovation process to structural dimensions which link production, society and state. Different processes of technical change are illustrated, based on their origin and qualitative charactèristics.
