Abstract
The phase diagram of a two-dimensional system consisting of colloids is investigated within the Kosterlitz-Thouless-Halperin-Nelson-Young theory of dislocation-mediated two-dimensional melting. We also present results for the interaction energy, the phonon spectrum, and the longitudinal and transverse sound velocity for different values of the screening length. Keywords
