Abstract

Total extract of the leaves of Taxus baccata L. elecited hypotensive effect and stimulated respiration. The hypotensive effect seems to be partly central and partly due to a direct depressant action on the cardiovascular musculature. The extract exerted contractile action on the smooth and skeletal muscles.
