Abstract
Starch gel electrophoresis is currently used in our laboratory for the study of the genetics and evolution of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) and related species. An account is given of this technique, and the staining of the gels for enzyme activity of peroxidases, leucine-aminopeptidases, esterases, and alcohol dehydrogenases. Keywords
