On the entropy production in dissipative radiative plasmas

Abstract
An entropy production formula for dissipative radiative plasmas is derived. This result is consistent with Israel's theory of relativistic transient thermodynamics and it generalizes a formula obtained earlier by Weinberg from conventional relativistic hydrodynamics. It is shown that our formula follows independently from a phenomenological as well as from a kinetic approach. The emphasis in this paper is on the kinetic derivation. A special section is devoted to the role of bulk-viseous entropy production.
