Abstract
A semimicro modification of the Chapman and Kelley method is reported. One-gm. samples of soil are used, rather than the larger aliquots generally employed. The prolonged leaching process involving ammonium acetate is replaced with short digestion periods of soil-ammonium acetate mixtures, followed by centrifugation of the soil suspension. The total NH3 fixed by the soil is liberated by a semi-micro Kjeldahl distillation and detd. quantitatively with Nessler''s reagent. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
