Abstract
Three additional cases of bilateral renal cortical necrosis associated with antemortem roentgen evidence of calcification are reported. Some radiological and isotopic manifestations which appear characteristic of this condition are an initial increase followed by a gradual decrease in renal size, cortical calcification often forming a "tram-line" distribution, normal initial retrograde pyelograms, normal renal arteriograms, and a persistent absence or a minimal evidence of secretory phase on serial renograms. The integrity of the blood supply, the degree of necrosis, and the length of survival time are probably essential factors in the production of antemortem cortical calcifications. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
