Abstract
Reticuloendothelial system-blockade induced by collodial carbon in rabbits produced only a single modification of the plasma kinetics of daunorubicin-DNA complex, consisting in a significant prolongation of the distribution phase of the vector (DNA). No changes in distribution and metabolism of the cytostatic drug (DNR) were observed. Thus, a lysosomotropic mechanism does not play a major role in the disposition of DNA-complexed DNR.
