Abstract
Uwe Backes, expert on the many facets of the German right wing, examines the very current phenomenon of the Republikaner—their roots and relationships to other parties both established and extremist. He analyses the party's rapid rise in popularity in the late 1980s and its apparent decline in 1990, clearly marking the party's position on the right wing spectrum. Keywords
