Atomic Cascade of Muonic and Pionic Helium Atoms

Abstract
The cascade of muonic and pionic helium atoms in targets of arbitrary density is investigated. The calculation does not use any free parameters except for strong-interaction effects. All measured x-ray intensities are reproduced, in particular the intensity ratios in pionic helium.
