CONGENITAL ANHIDROTIC ECTODERMAL DYSPLASIA

Abstract
Congenital anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia is a disorder characterized by incomplete development of the dermis and its appendages, including the sweat glands. Two infants are reported in whom there were also entodermal abnormalities. Seromucous glands were virtually absent throughout the respiratory tract. The infections encountered in the patients in this report may be related to the loss of the protective mechanism afforded by the mucus normally secreted by these glands.
