Abstract
Although the screwworm, Cochliomyia hominivarax, was eradicated from the Caribbean island of Curaçao in 1954, the island became reinfested in December 1975. Between this reintroduction and the reeradication in October 1977, 582 cases of screwworm myiasis were reponed on the island, with 396 cases in dogs, 87 in goats, 27 in swine, 25 in humans, and 47 in all other hosts. It was necessary to reeducate the people on the island in the prevention and treatment of screwworm myiasis. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
