Abstract
This paper presents the results of a finite element analysis of a Stanmore prosthesis cemented into a titanium alloy tube. The problem was analysed since a reliable set of experimental data was available for comparison with the results of analysis. The results achieved demonstrate the importance of using joint elements which permit slip between the prosthesis and cement. Keywords
