Abstract
In the 90th Psalm we find the words: "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; . . ." "Yet is their strength labour and sorrow . . ." In Luther's version this reads: "but his life has been worthy if it has been a life of toil and care." The life of Howard Fox was fourscore years, and it was indeed worthy, for it was a life of toil and care: toil and care for his patients, his students, and the science of dermatology. I myself never had the good fortune to know this great dermatologist, physician, and man. But I know what his friends, and those who worked under him and with him, thought of him; I am very much alive to the great honor I have in delivering this First Memorial Lecture, and IKeywords
