Abstract
Two normally fed calves were compared to 5 which received liquid diets to 11 months of age. Development of the reticulum, omasum, and abomasum was normal in all calves. Papillation occurred in one rumen in the milk fed group but this development was subnormal. Fold-like structures but no papillae were observed in the rumens of the other experimental calves. Both control rumens were papillated heavily. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
