Abstract
Three reasons frequently given for attempting to control diseases in domestic animals are production economy, removal of reservoirs of disease transmissible to man, and humanitarian considerations. The present work stemmed from none of these, but from the need of research workers for experimental animals, free from all infectious diseases, that would be capable of yielding unambiguous results. Promising commercial extensions are now seen. Keywords
