Abstract
I. TUMORS DEVELOPING FROM CRANIO-PHARYNGEAL DUCT INCLUSIONS In 1902 Saxer described an epithelial tumor which replaced the infundibulum of the hypophysis, filled up and distended the recessus infundibuli and the recessus opticus, and extended into the third ventricle so as to form a part of its floor, also into the lateral ventricle through the foramen of Monro. The anterior lobe of the hypophysis was normal and the tumor was unconnected with the choroid plexus. The nodular, free surface of the tumor, especially that projecting into the third ventricle, had a definite papillary structure. The papillæ consisted of a fairly thick connective tissue ground work, which was covered by epithelial masses, the general arrangement of which corresponded to that of stratified flat epithelium. The most superficial epithelial layers consisted of flattened cells which were fusiform on cross section. The deeper layers were cubical or cylindrical and the cytoplasm of cells wasKeywords
