Direct jitter measurement technique

Abstract

A jitter measurement technique is dscribed which provides a time and amplitude quantised histogram estimator for the probability density function of the transition times of a digital signal. Conventional statistical metrics are also obtained, so providing an accurate numerical description of jitter phenomena.
