Abstract
The effect of SC-9420 (Aldactone) on 3 cases of primary aldosteronism caused by adrenal adenoma was studied. SC-9420 influenced only the K excretion on normal intake of salt, with no effect on Na excretion. This K improvement possibly stimulated the aldosterone secretion in this disease. The effect of SC-9420 was changed not only by the amounts of miner-alocorticoid, but by the degree of activity of renal tubules with respect to electrolytes. It is suspected that the hypotensive action of SC-9420 is caused not only by Na excretion and the decrease of total body Na, but also by some unknown factor. Keywords
