Abstract
A 38-year-old African woman who had lived for several years in Germany reported recurrent episodes of abdominal pain, occurring mainly in the upper right quadrant. Two previous laparoscopic examinations within the past year had revealed no pathological correlate for her discomfort. When she presented to an outpatient department, a parasitologic examination of a stool sample was performed and revealed multiple brownish helminthic eggs that were approximately 40 µ m × 20 µ m in size ( 1figure 1). Additional laboratory examinations were refused by the patient. Keywords
