Annual health reports and the development of public health in England

Abstract
A SURVEY of 28 annual health reports was under taken. Their style and content varied considerably, but very few met the requirements outlined in HC(88)64. The involvement of other agencies in the preparation of these reports, a capacity for research into local needs, and the co-ordination of national, regional and local data provision, will be essential if they are to achieve their intended purpose.
