Abstract
In the framework of the vibronic microtheory of ferroelectricity, calculations of the dependence of the soft mode, the Curie temperature and the order parameter on external magnetic fields have been carried out for a simple model of a ferroelectric-semiconductor with mirror symmetrical parabolic valence and conduction bands. Measurements of ferroelectric properties in magnetic fields may settle the question whether they are of vibronic or of pure lattice dynamic origin. The same conclusions are also valid for other type of vibronic phase transitions. Keywords
