Abstract
The dispersion relation for the coupled photon-magnon-phonon modes is discussed, and an expression for the time-averaged energy density of the coupled modes in a ferromagnetic insulator is derived, based on the electromagnetic nature of the modes. The phenomena of ferromagnetic resonance and ferroacoustic resonance are shown to correspond to specific frequency-wave-vector regimes of the dispersion curves. Expressions are derived for the phonon, magnon, and photon strengths of the coupled modes in the two regimes. Keywords
