Abstract
A calculation of the wavevector dependence of the phonon frequencies of fcc lead in three symmetry directions is reported. Lead is treated like a simple metal, without considering its complex features, through the use of the Ashcroft model pseudopotential (1967). The core radius obtained from the experimental data is used to compute phonon dispersion, binding energy and compressibility. A good agreement between theoretical results and experiment is obtained. Keywords
