Abstract
The Raman spectrum of water vapor at atmospheric pressure was obtained. Special precautions were taken to avoid parasitic light and a search made for the 1648 cm—1, and 984 cm—1 shifts reported by Johnston and Walker. These shifts were not observed. A line was found which might be correlated with Mecke's v(σ) but the evidence in this case is not conclusive. Keywords
