Abstract
A pentacyclic triterpene derivative of glycyrrhizinic acid (Biogastrone) was previously tested alone. Present tests of this agent alone or in combination with estrogens confirm its beneficial effects. Addition of estrogens had no significant effect. Carbenoxolone therapy is the only treatment which was demonstrated to accelerate healing in ambulant patients, often without interruption of work, and with minimum change in diet. Keywords
