Deliberate Hypotension for the Management of Threatening Hemorrhage

Abstract
Deliberate hypotension has value in circumstances where hemorrhage has occurred or is pending. Deliberate hypotension appeared to reduce bleeding and facilitate suturing of the aorta. Hypo-tensive drugs in the critical period immediately following cardio-pulmonary bypass in aortic operations, the control of leaks and the prevention of aortic distention can be obtained by the judicious use of ganglionic blocking agents.
