Abstract
The distribution of species of dune slacks of Newborough Warren was described using ordination. Water table accounted for the first axis of the ordination and this correlated with the species distribution. Exchangeable calcium and sodium show a slight trend along the second axis. No environmental factor among the ones analysed accounted for the third axis of variation. The sparse vegetation cover and failure of establishment of species such as Plantago coronopus in the `wet' stands are attributed to severe deficiencies of nitrogen and phosphorus.
