Abstract
Intravenous or subcutaneous doses of insulin too low for hypoglycemic response decrease serum fatty acids by about 0.5 - 0.7 meq. Chiefly the neutral fats are involved. The known decrease of amino-N in serum is induced only with higher insulin doses which induce marked hypoglycemia. The 1st phenomenon does not depend upon the height of the blood sugar, as experiments with added glucose show.
