Abstract
The bit error rate performance of GMSK (BT product of 0.5) in a single interferer environment is considered. It is shown that the superiority of coherent over LD detection is not as marked as for the noise only case, and depends strongly on receiver filtering. Comparative estimates of spectral efficiency suggest that, for small cell cordless and mobile networks with irregular layouts, the adoption of coherent receiver techniques may provide small system gains only.
