Abstract
The growth and germination response of F. annelidica to various physical and nutritional parameters was measured on solid media and in liquid culture. Maximum radial growth was observed at 20.degree. C and 100% germination of conidia occurred in less than 24 h between 10.degree. and 25.degree. C. Maximum growth in liquid culture occurred at pH 5. T. annelidica was able to grow and sporulate on a wide variety of carbohydrates; maximum growth occurred on amylose and soluble starch. Glucose concentrations greater than 7 g/l appeared to inhibit growth. Tests revealed strong amylase, lipase and phosphatase activity by F. annelidica. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
