Abstract
It is only within the last six or seven years that the keyword has seriously been considered as a useful media for information processing and retrieval. This is in the main due to the efforts of H. P. Luhn of the IBM Advanced Systems Development Division. In this paper I intend to consider three of his techniques in which the keyword is exploited. But first of all let's bring the keyword into focus.
