Abstract
Ahlqcist (1948, 1958) in his well known hypothesis on adrenergic, receptors considered that the chronotropic and inotropic effects of adrenergic agents on the heart are mediated through a receptor of the β type. This explained why the adrenergic blocking agents, then known, were unable to antagonize the above mentioned effects. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
