Abstract
With the aid of physical chemical, analytical chemical, and organic chemical methods the immunochemist has gained a clearer understanding of the nature of antigens and antibodies. Studies of the sero-logical behavior of pure proteins and polysaccharides by the quantitative precipitin method have yielded simpler and more precise information than hitherto available. Antibodies are now universally recognized as modified serum globulins. The conversion of one type of pneumo-coccus into another is discussed among other examples of the application of immunochemical techniques to genetics and biology. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
