Abstract
The evoked somatosensory potentials recorded from 24 patients with stroke are described. The changes seen in the evoked responses can be correlated with the clinical observations during the acute phase in most instances, although improvement in sensory perception is not accompanied by a parallel recovery of evoked potential amplitude. Cerebral diaschisis may be responsible for bilateral depression of evoked somatosensory potentials in the presence of unilateral infarct. Keywords
