Abstract
The analysis of means (ANOM) is an alternative to the analysis of variance (ANOVA) for examining fixed effects. It was formalized by E. R. Ott and further developed by E. G. Schilling. This paper provides an extended table of factors needed for ANOM for significance levels of 0.10, 0.05, 0.01, and 0.001; numbers of means equal to 3 (1) 1 2 (2) 20, 24, 30, 40, and 60; and degrees of freedom equal to k (1) 20, 24, 30, 40, 60, 120, ∞, where k = the number of means. A comparison of ANOM and ANOVA is made. The use of ANOM for unequal sample sizes is discussed and exemplified. Keywords
