Abstract
Striped bass, Morone saxatilis, abundance indices were developed from two analyses of sport‐fishing party boat catch statistics for the Sacramento‐San Joaquin Estuary. These analyses cover the periods 1938–1954 and 1958–1972. The abundance indices provided evidence that the size of the fishable population fluctuated by a factor of 3.7 during the latter period and that river flows in the first summer of life affected recruitment during both periods. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
