Abstract
An investigation of the relationship of selected variables to congruency or discrepancy between expressed or inventoried interests is presented. The sample for this study consisted of 327 randomly selected high school students from a public school located in an affluent suburb and a parochial school located in a city. It is shown that a student's positive intention of attending college and selection of a vocation is significantly more characteristic of students congruent in their expressed/inventoried interests than subjects whose interests are discrepant. Keywords
